Think Pink: Finding My Style

Top- Zara | Jeans- Topshop | Heels- MissPap | Bag- Vivienne Westwood (old)

I am fully enamoured with this outfit. I personally think it's so versatile, flattering, feminine and these jeans are my new best friend. I'm really into sheer tops at the moment, as is the trend, I think it adds sex appeal in the right way and as if I haven't had enough of pink and frills this Zara top caught my eye. I'm really knuckling down into what I like and colour with some sass is coming in.

It somehow reminds me of easter, possibly by way of colour and my white vivienne westwood swinging beside me, but it feels demure in a non dowdy way and so totally appropriate for smarter occasions. A high neck, modern/victorian style blouse played down with distressed skinnys just shows the style i'm into. I really like soft tailoring; something that can easily turn from office wear to a date, comfy but classy and I try to pick pieces that look more expensive then they are as these stand the test of time. What pieces keep cropping up in your wardrobe and how would you describe your style?

Summer In The City: Dress Confident

Jumspuit & Bag- Zara | Jacket- New Look | Shoes- Miss Pap (all sale)

On a small mid month outing to Zara (when am I never there) I came across a grey culotte jumpsuit, alas they didn't have my size left so my friend suggested I get the red. I thought, no way josé how will i wear that?! It's so fire red and being a jumpsuit there isn't much to tone it down; but your friends are that for a reason! And it was a bargain at a sale price of 9.99. It's so comfortable and the way the fabric moves is beautiful, culotte jumpsuits truly are a wonder outfit for every shape and can be dressed up as I have done here with heels. I let the jumpsuit do the talking, pairing it with simple gold accessories and salmon bag and shoes, it deserved the shard backdrop as the building too is a standout feature. The only thing I must note is mine needs to be taken up a little. You know, life is too short to NOT to buy the outfit and something that makes you feel good can never be bad. Wear it and wear it well!

The Top Two Fragrances for Summer

The top two must have scents for summer are definitely Barbour for Her and Jo Malone's Blue Agava & Cacao

Blue Agava & Cacao has a top note of lime, heart of blue agave flower and base note of cacao bean.

This is a fresh and flirty scent that literally screams beach and hot weather. It's seductive without being heavy - the cacao bean is what brings the depth but is still sweet and carries that grapefruit and zesty lime on the body so well. There is nothing, honestly nothing, like this cologne at all. A unique thoughtful blend like all of Jo Malone's scents it is young and evokes dreams of a vacation, very fun yet romantic. I think there's nothing worse than wearing a cloying scent on a humid day so make sure you have something that was created with heat in mind a lot like this one.

Barbour for her has top notes of red currant blended seamlessly with pink pepper, rose, blush peony with a dash of musk and vanilla.

Brand new from Barbour, Barbour for Her still keeps with their countryside aesthetic. I see this worn on women at Wimbledon, lunch dates, Ascot, rural picnics- it's very British and brilliantly so. It is soft and feminine with a kick (thanks to the pink pepper). The musk warms it up slightly so it can be worn throughout the day, it truly is like walking through a well kept garden of sweet smelling flowers on a warm summer's afternoon. It's light but lovely, one that can be smelt as someone brushes past but not at all overpowering. I think they have done well to venture into the fragrance world and can't wait to see what they come up with next.

A Spanish Touch

Top- H&M | Jeans- Monki | Bag- Zara | Shoes- SW

When I think of off the shoulder or bardot tops I immediately feel a hit of Spanish flare. I love that they're on trend because to me shoulders are the new cleavage: sexy yet sophisticated and perfect for this on off weather we've been having as of June!

This cropped off the shoulder top from H&M sits perfectly over my high waisted mum jeans and, if you didn't suspect from my previous post or my birthday outfit, I love these Stuart Weitzman wedges- neutral to go with everything and so comfy. Wedges take me just out of casual yet are still paired down and comfortable enough to strut around London. The swirled blue floral pattern on white mixes so well with my skin tone and I think worked great with my salmon pink Zara bag- you only want something small so as not to take away from the detailing and décolletage!

The tassels on my mini bag add to that fun and flirty sun style i was going for. Its a fresh take on a Spanish style, soaking in beautiful colour and yet still very wearable (even in soggy UK). A very versatile off the shoulder, In the future I'll be wearing it with a mid length white skirt with either heels or pumps, taking the outfit from ready-to-wear to event and lunch dates. I really enjoyed taking these shots, taking in the sun and wearing this outfit!

Indoor Confidence: Staying Motivated When Blogging

Necklace- Topshop | Shirt(similar)- Bershka | Jeans- Topshop | Mules- Zara

I really wanted to post this super simple style but two things happened: the weather wasn't great and to be honest i lost the confidence to shoot outside/shoot in general. This is something that happened on my long abandoned blog, if i stare at my pictures for too long a lot like if you say a word too many times it feels empty and meaningless.

I have to kick myself up the backside and say actually you knew exactly what you meant and how you felt when you styled this. It's a tailored, smart casual style- a real bit of me. It's put together in such an effortless fashion that we can all recreate. I've wanted a pair of mules since last year and pleased to see them picking up speed again. I know i surely am not the only blogger that finds themselves losing steam and confidence to blog but if it means going back to 2010 and posing in my bedroom or around the flat with just the natural lighting where i feel comfortable then that's just what i'll do but giving up this time is not an option.

Myself and perhaps yourself wants to show a creative side, use blogging as an outlet and there is always reason to why you decided 'this is what i want to write, this is what i want to wear and this is what i want to show!' so get comfy, go to mum and dad's back garden where no one is watching or do the opposite and pose in piccadilly circus (you'll have more than one camera on you that's for sure!) just remember why you wanted to do it in the first place: for yourself, for your readers, or to simply share.

Cheap Frills

Top-Asos | Shorts- Zara | Wedges- Stuart Weitzman | Bag- Russell & Bromley

Way back when we had some sun (i hope that wasn't our summer!) i made the most of it by getting my legs out- I always do for the fomo. I definitely prefer and feel i know how to better dress, in spring and summer. When i came across this blouse i was instantly reminded of the pastels and frills from Chloe but it's a steal from Asos. The frills and high neck with a keyhole on the chest give me femininity and high class.

I need to grab some stone or white coloured shorts for the summer but in the meantime I wore my high waisted Zara shorts matched with my (unseen) black cat eye sunglasses. Continuing the spring flair with an upper class British style i wore my SW wedges- these are the comfiest heels i own for sure and they team well with my old Russell and Bromley paris shopper.

Have you nabbed any designer dupes lately?

How To Spring Clean Your Wardrobe

Spring is in full swing, so here's some advice on how to spring clean your wardrobe! (yes i don my comfiest jammies and get to work!)

Figuring Out What Should Go
- Does it still wash properly?
- Is the colour, pattern, shape and thread still there?
-Is it designer or have sentimental value?

Over time you may find stains on clothes just won't budge or that damp smell won't shift with the best detergent on the market. That along with very faded, over stretched, ill fitting garments with holes and nicks should probably make it's way out. If it's of sentimental value (for example i have a purple jumper given to me by my aunt who has now passed) don't feel bad for keeping it, even it doesn't quite fit any more. If it's designer, it's more than likely of great quality so can stand the test of time in both fashion and wear and if you really don't want it anymore it can fetch you a pretty penny should you choose to part with it.

Where Should It Go?

NEVER in the bin. Textile waste us huge and gross, it's very detrimental to our environment. Shops like H&M, Marks & Spencers, Zara and more offer trade ins or recycling bins. If your clothes and accessories are in good condition but perhaps the style isn't you any more (or like me you've bought the wrong size shoe and worn it, like, once!) give it to a friend or a charity shop. Otherwise take it to your local clothes bank usually found in your recycling refuge or supermarkets. Set up an amazon, eBay or depop account to sell things like jewellery.

Why Clear In The First Place?

Although it's not an obligation i definitely recommend it. Especially if you're a fashion lover. It's great for the mind and those that may wish to explore a more minimal lifestyle. Clearing gives you a chance to organise and lets face it - a clutter free lifestyle is less stressful!

Once it's done, treat yourself to a cuppa and a smile. But then again, why stop at your wardrobe? you can apply a similar outlook to clearing out near enough everything from old books and documents (are they 1st editions, important certificates?) to that pesky email inbox!

I hope you found this post helpful! Happy clearing! x
